The Endocrine system
The Endocrine system is comprised of glands located all over the body, and they are responsible for body processes that occur slowly over time such as the growth of cells. The Endocrine system's glands secrete hormones into the bloodstream, which are carried to a different set of cells than they originated from, sending a chemical message to those cells. The Endocrine System works opposite the Nervous system, which sends chemical signals fast throughout the body, and is responsible for things such as breathing and muscle movement, while the Endocrine system is responsible for signaling to other cells in the body.
